Who We Are

We're a community of industry leaders from diverse backgrounds and with different perspectives, united in one common goal:

To be the change we want to see in the world.

Our History

The Diversity Advocacy Alliance (DAA) was established in early 2022 by the High Point Market Authority in partnership with a group of industry leaders and stakeholders committed to strengthening the furnishings and design industries through initiatives centered on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

DAA launched its first official programming during the Fall 2022 High Point Market, beginning with a panel discussion featuring underrepresented design professionals, followed by a networking event and an industry-wide survey. The overwhelmingly positive response affirmed the need for this work and inspired the organization to expand its programming, partnerships, and long-term vision.

In the spring of 2026, the advisory committee voted to establish DAA as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This milestone allows us to extend our reach well beyond High Point, creating opportunities to educate, convene, and advocate for meaningful progress throughout the home furnishings and design industries.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to amplifying underrepresented voices, encouraging equitable opportunities, and promoting authentic representation across our profession. By fostering a more inclusive and welcoming industry, we hope to inspire the next generation of designers, makers, and creative leaders to see a place where they can thrive. Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant design community that celebrates excellence through the richness of diverse perspectives.

A debt of gratitude is owed to our founding and past committee members.
